What a fantastic day we had once again. Special thanks to Gil llewellyn for coming to teach the kids special ball handling skills and to Pat from the RVCA surf team to take his time and come to teach the kids some surfing. We had so much fun, the water was warm and the sun came out just on time.
VBL games started with an all star presentation of Free Agents VS U.N. with lots high flying action and poster dunks… here is a preview, stay tuned for highlights…
First Semi-Finals game was Team Advantage who ran a fundamental basketball clinic against Hollywood Hoops and came up with an easy win. Unfortunately losers have to go home. Its been a great season for Hollywizzle and his superstar crew. Team Advantage just plays so well together and play basketball to the perfection and are the #1 contenders to win the finals next week
The game that everyone was waiting for was the rematch of the two home teams Venice All Stars and Mean Ones who always play with great passion and hate each other. The game was down to the wire but the world champions found a way to pull it off in the end…
Stay tuned for next week Bikini Ball, All-Star Game, Dunk CONTEST, Celeb Game and VBL FINALS!

By popular demand we have decided to extend our SUMMER CAMP one more week for our 11th edition. We wish to invite all the kids to participate in this FREE camp that will teach kids great new things and give them memories of a lifetime.
KVBL kids are exposed to: Yoga instruction from world-renowned Yoga teachers; basketball lessons with
some of the League’s premier players and other celebrities; fitness facts and
training from Vegan nutrition professionals and organic breakfasts and lunches, prepared by the children
themselves under the supervision of nutrition experts. This Saturday the RVCA surf team and KVBL staff will be there to teach the kids fundamentals of surfing in shallow waters.
It is the goal of The KVBL to provide experiences for children that
empower them to cultivate a healthy lifestyle, gain confidence in themselves and
each other, and truly become the “Natural Leaders” of their own communities.
The KVBL promotes teamwork through basketball and introduces kids to healthy
diets, exercise, holistic healing, leadership, sustainability and organic culture.

For Playoffs Team Captains are required to pay $30 ref fees per team for our officials. If a team was not to pay they will be automatically disqualified!
Semis will be played on a SATURDAY the 4th and Finals on SUNDAY the 12th of September.

* Games will consist of 8 minute quarters with 2 minute breaks between quarters and 15 minutes between halves.
* Each team will be allotted TWO 30 second time outs each half.
* A running clock will be used until the last two (2) minutes of the game.
* Time will continue to run and will not be stopped if there is a differential of ten (10) or more points entering the final two (2) minutes of play.
* In games closer than the ten (10) point differential, special rules will govern play, in order to account for fouls and the advancement of the ball.
* Under 10 seconds in the 4th quarter if a player gets caught for a reaching foul 5 seconds will go back on the clock
* No free throws will be attempted until the the last minute of the game. 1 shot will be attempted for 2 or 3 points.
* If a player is FOULED HARD in the act of shooting, two (2) or three (3) points will be granted to his team accordingly. Fouls are called at the referee’s discretion and will result in two (2) points being awarded to offensive team.
* Just like in soccer continuation applies, the ref may call a foul late depending if the offense can get by…
* No player can foul out.
*6 seconds to cross half court
* The hand is regarded as part of the ball.
* NO TIPITAP. This is VENICEBALL.
* In case of a tie at the end of regulation, there will be a three (3) minute overtime with a stoppable clock. If a tie exists after the first overtime, a sudden death overtime will be played, starting with a jump ball. The first team to score is declared the winner.
* No game shall end in a tie.
* NO ZONE DEFENSES will be permitted. Man to man at all times. A team will get a one (1) point penalty every time this rule is broken.
*If your team is up you will have 10 seconds to shoot within the last minute of regulation.
* Substitutions may happen at any time in the game. One player must HIGH FIVE the other from out of bounds to step in the game.
