Veniceball Adds More Nations To 3rd Annual Streetball Olympics

VENICE, CA – This weekend the famed Venice Beach basketball courts will feature the top streetball athletes in the VBL competing against teams from around the globe. The 3rd Annual #VBLWORLDGAMES will have teams representing Tokyo, the Philippines, Qatar, New Delhi, Mexico and Paris. 16 teams will be battling it out over 3 days of non stop action for the ultimate bragging rights.
Last year Spaceball (Japan) and CL Smooth (China) were the international fan favorites in a tournament dominated by star players Guy Dupuy, Jerry “Assassin” Dupree, Mike Jones and their VBL Galaxy squad. This year several new hopefuls enter the tournament including Team Pacquiao, one of two teams representing the Philippines this year, Team Qatar sponsored by Omni Online Solutions, as well as the loaded 2014 VBL Champs the Brandblack All-Stars who’re looking to solidify their place in the hoop scene with a second trophy in as many months.
In addition to new teams an expansion in partnerships highlighted by Aquahydrate (hydration) and Peak Sports USA (apparel) promises to enhance the weekend tournament. After a successful debut this past summer in the VBL for Metta World Peace it is unknown which team the Panda’s Friend will be playing for this weekend.
Fellow former pros and southern California residents expected to make appearence include Cuttino Mobley, Jalen Rose,Terrell Owens and Doug Christie. With NBA training camps a few weeks away and no other hoops events conflicting, the possibility of current pros entering the mix is still quite strong.
